Paul Cosman
History
I started with Gary Burgin in 1977, going to his shop in Stanton, CA after school and in the summertime.
The first race I crewed on Gary’s car was at Capital Raceway in Maryland in 1977. I went to all the summer races in ‘78 and ‘79 and was on the road full time. That's when I was first acquainted with Jim. I left Gary’s team at the end of 1981, had a short tenure with Billy Meyer, then Jim and Tommy Anderson
called. Working on the Wombat crew and going to the finals at the U.S. Nationals was an awesome time for me. We had many memorable outings
and Tommy sure knew how to make a car run. After the Wombat, I worked for Custom Body Enterprises, Tom McEwen, and Lori Johns. I also helped
Gary Burgin field a funny car for Jody Smart. I sure was a lucky kid back then. Thanks for the memories, Jim.
